A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

My Story

I’ve been a mental health advocate since 2013, ever since I uploaded my first YouTube video sharing my experiences with depression and anxiety. Since that time, I desperately tried to pull away and hide my work out of fear of embarrassment and judgment—or more accurately, fear of admitting I myself, experienced mental illness. Hiding seemed like the best defense, but the impact I saw from my YouTube videos made me wonder what would happen if I stuck with it. After working at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Twitter, AdParlor Inc., and the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, I finally decided to give in.

In 2018, I left the corporate world and began my mission to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness while helping people understand and improve their emotional well-being. This transition was also a necessity for my own deeper mental health and spiritual journey.

I earned mindfulness and meditation training certifications, attended silent retreats, became a certified life coach and am currently completing a Master’s in Neuroscience. These experiences provided the foundation to build online communities, start the Being Human Podcast, and speak at schools and corporations about mental health.

Corinne T. - New Jersey, USA

...relaxation techniques, mindfulness, CBT and diet. Scott taught me how to calm my body and mind down which helped tremendously in the healing process."

David F. - Budapest, Hungary

Scott is the most sweetest and understanding person I have ever met. The course is really helping me write my feelings more and makes me feel like family :)"

Islam A. - Michigan, USA

His session connected with all employees who attended and weeks later we received feedback that employees were still using the tools he provided. Our company hit the mark by providing Scott Ste Marie as a resource and I would encourage other companies to do the same. If you want to invest in your employee’s wellbeing, Scott should be top of your list."

Melanie Britton, Carfax Canada

His professionalism along with his sense of humour, lightens the room and always creates a safe space. He is honest, enthusiastic, and a very engaging communicator."

Patricia Smallbone, Manager of Parent Relations at Appleby College

From the first moments of the presentation, the audience was hooked, and many commented that they couldn’t believe the hour went by so quickly. Scott understood his audience, spoke to them in a language they understood and captured their attention.  What else can you ask for in a speaker."
