My Story

I think it helps if I think of this as "Our Story", as you may be able to see yourself in some of the following words.

Listen, I know the Blackness of Future. I know it all too well. The feeling of hopelessness and convincing myself I will never feel joy ever again. I know the sense of doom and complete consumption of a panic attack. I know what it's like to feel completely lost and stuck in life. I dealt with depression and anxiety for a long time, and still have those moments. We all do. 

Life is contrast though, and we must wear the world lightly my friends. It took time for me to understand those emotions and I'm still learning. It takes time to know what to do with them and how to tend to them. By working on myself with the selfless help from others, there is another side to all of this.

I promise you there is another side.

I now know the hopefulness of future, the beauty and awe of simplicity, the preciousness of impermanence and the washing away of worry in a state of true awareness.

Our story is a story of hope and of never giving up. Ever. 

In 2018 my mission started to help others with their emotional wellbeing while also continuing to understand my own. My YouTube Channel grew, my podcast started and I began speaking at schools and corporations. This mission isn't about pathology or symptoms. It's recognizing the human condition and getting in touch with our true, authentic self. If you decide to read further, my most meaningful adventure began in 2020.


Fun Facts & Thoughts: I bungee jumped in Switzerland.  Backpacked through eastern Europe. I have three brothers, one sister and two awesome parents. Did my first stand up set in 2021. I meditate everyday. I spend as much time off screens as possible. I love camping, swimming and cliff jumping. I've been playing guitar and drums since 2008. Music is the obsession and unquenchable thirst in my life. The sky is free.

Mental Illness to Well-Being  

Depression & Anxiety

2008: I found myself in an emotional tangle and experiencing severe depression and anxiety.

I was given a diagnosis of "Major Depressive Disorder" and "Social Anxiety Disorder"

There was an unfortunate lack of compassion and attention from those in psychiatric practice.

Fully coming to terms with a diagnosis was very difficult, yet it provided me with a solid foundation to pursue answers and viable treatments. 

I learned to live with depression and anxiety while finding meaning and purpose helping others along the way.

For over a decade I continue questioning, searching and putting the pieces together. 

Expression & Support

Biochemical - Support from Naturopathic Doctors, Neuroscientists and Nutritionists. Complete diet change and understanding of food sensitivities with autonomic balancing

Physical - Osteopathy and Acupuncture, releasing emotional tension

Psychological - Focusing sessions with a professional, getting in touch with and recovering suppressed and repressed emotion. Making sense of past experiences, connecting mind & body.

Spiritual - Guidance from teachers and priests. An ongoing process to be with the unknown and hold the need to know at a distance. Seeing myself as a "Painter Passing Through in History" - thanks Gordon Lightfoot :)

Connection & Authenticity

In touch with my true, authentic self. Strengthened intuitive sense and connected mind & body.

Cultivating a felt sense of compassion for myself while finding humour in the darkness.

Feel a connectedness with the environment and developed a sense of trust and understanding with my emotions.

Belonging with friends, regular meditation practice, exercise and healthy eating are all part of daily living.

Oh btw, I still get anxious and sometimes life is just too much. I'm still as imperfect as I ever was, but I'm more me than ever before. Only human :)

Scott has a Life Coaching Certificate from Transformation Services and holds a certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction from Mindful Leader. He has his Bachelors Degree from the University of Waterloo and is pursuing his Masters Degree in Clinical & Counselling Psychology. He has been practicing meditation since 2008, focusing meditation since 2020 and coaching people individually since 2018.

Why I Do It

Sometimes I feel I don't really have a choice. I love helping and working with people. My personal history has allowed me to be of better help and guidance to those who seek support. I've been a witness to both changes within myself but also seen massive shifts in clients wellbeing. I feel honoured to be a source of help for people and hope I can continue to learn and become better. 

In addition to my closeness to the human experience, I am both empathetic and compassionate to those who deal with depression and anxiety. I know the feeling of being in that place but also know how difficult it is to climb out.
